Her greatest professional accomplishment was the mathematical analysis of oral poetry (Ancient Egyptian and Greek and Latin). She has had a lifetime passion for music ranging from Broadway musicals to classical opera to the piano music that she played. Her introduction to opera was listening to Faust broadcast from New York on the radio when she was 10 years old. Nancy Pillsbury Shirley brings more than 40 years of experience in both the for-profit business world and in philanthropy. She was the first white woman adopted into the Eagle Clan of the Osage tribe by Chief Ed Red Eagle and given the name O-TAH-ZHA NA-ZHE (Beautiful Woman Standing). She is President of Pillsbury Marketing Company and executive Vice President and Treasurer of the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Missouri, as well as the President of the Board of Winter Opera St. Louis. She is a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, MO and lives in Ladue, MO.

Mary Pillsbury is a Diamond Jeweler, Entrepreneur, Singer, Philanthropist, Socialite, and founder of the Mary Pillsbury Company, a nationally known fine Diamond Jewelry Company since 1978. She is Vice President of the Ed & H Pillsbury Foundation, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Friends of Music at Washington University, as well as a board member of Missouri Baptist University & The Sheldon Concert Hall.
