Our 12th Annual Fall Gala Fundraiser on September 28th was a wonderful success! Held at Old Warson Country Club for the second year in a row, we had record attendance with 232 guests. Thank you everyone who attended and celebrated with us. Your presence truly made the night a memorable one!
The evening included a silent auction, live auction, and entertainment by top artists from this upcoming season: Soprano Karen Kanakis, mezzo-soprano Benedetta Orsi, baritone Nicholas Ward, and tenor Gregory Schmidt, with special appearances by soprano Gina Galati and tenor Keith Boyer.
New Winter Opera board member, Lu Barnes, received an award for bringing the most guests for the fourth year in a row – this year she brought 120!
Our founder, Gina Galati, was presented with a Winter Opera quilt that featured a St. Louis City skyline and the titles of every opera the company has produced. The quilt was generously made Mrs. Vivienne Mazzotta, longtime friend and supporter of Ms. Galati and Winter Opera St. Louis.
The funds raised during the auctions and Fund A Need will greatly help with covering the costs of our January opera, L’Italiana in Algeri by Gioachino Rossini.
